Schuylkill Valley EMS provides various services to assist the Community we serve. With an increase in the amount of school and workplace violence SVEMS put into service a Tactical EMS Team in 1999. This team of highly trained Paramedics would be available to assist local law enforcement and specialized police teams with providing life saving skills in a "hot zone" in active shooter scenarios. SVEMS IS one of the founding organizations of the Region 2 Tactical EMS Team. A Team comprised of Highly Trained Paramedics in the Eastern PA EMS Region. Current Agencies represented are Suburban EMS, Cetronia Ambulance, Muhlenberg Ambulance and Schuylkill Valley EMS.

In September of 2014 the Team was activated for one of the most difficult incidents in Pennsylvania History. For the Next 48 days the team provided Tactical EMS Support to the Pennsylvania State Police East SERT Team. In the May Issue of JEMS Magazine you can read about the Incident and what the team completed during those 48 days.
