Schuylkill Valley EMS Special Operations Division

As times change so must the professionals who provide Emergency Medical Services. As these times change first responders are asked to complete dangerous activities with-in their scope of practice that has NEVER been requested of them before. Schuylkill Valley EMS has recognized this need and has been working since the end of the year 2000 to develop a special operations division to compliment it's current Operational Division.

Although the concept is nice it has been a long tedious process to develop. Paramedics have been receiving specialized training in dealing with different Emergency Medical Incidents that this special operations division would respond to if needed. This resource is designed to compliment our current operational division and provide guidance to our daily staff if the need arises.

Fire Fighter Rehabilitation
Special Event EMS
Mass Casualty Incidents
Specialized Rescue Confined Space, Collapse, Trench Rescue (MEDICAL SUPPORT ONLY)

Schuylkill Valley EMS plays an important role as a charter member of the Pennsylvania EMS Strike Team.  The team has been deployed to the hurricane ravaged Gulf Coast during Hurricane Katrina and Gustav.
